Lessons in Performance
It was a mediocre performance. I didn’t feel good about it. Having people come up afterwards and say, “That was great!” just made it worse. I know that I am unusually hard on myself. But I also know when I’ve done well vs. badly.

The More I Remember, the More I Remember
Over the past year or so of writing true stories I have reached the conclusion that we are in fact bottomless wells of stories. I also have had a growing awareness of the relationship between strong emotions and vivid memories.
Jane Siberry: The Alchemy of the Everyday
While I don’t always like what she creates, I love and respect her as an artist. Siberry takes enormous risks and follows her heart, refusing to stop growing. As she put it in an interview, in which she discussed divesting herself of all of her possessions in 2006, it was “change or die.” She’s totally fearless. “Release the superhero inside!” Siberry implored us this evening. She’s done that for herself. What a great role model for anyone who’s endeavoring to unleash an idea.
A Run Down Memory Lane
“Ever the boy from the midwest, my dad was amazed at how many incredibly friendly young men would appear, seemingly out of nowhere, every morning. He’s a good looking guy (and had great runner’s legs). It took him a little while to figure out that he was being cruised.”
