Have you ever felt lost and, worse than that, deliberately led astray? It’s a bad feeling. Especially when you’re paying for the privilege.
Here I tell the story of my 14 years spent being guided through the mysterious, serpentine corridors of psychoanalysis. It was only when I declared my intention to leave therapy that my analyst began to hint at a sinister tenant shadowing me in my own psyche, one who threatened to destroy me should I dare to strike out on my own. But at least I got a good story out of it.
This story features special appearances by Sarah Winchester and Sigmund Freud. It was performed in front of a sitting room only crowd on November 18, 2013 at Talk Therapy Storytelling at Three of Cups in NYC.
