On Saturday, September 28 I’ll be performing at Speak Up. The theme of the evening is “Schooled: Lessons Taught and Lessons Learned.” It’s at 7:00 pm. It’s free. You can buy beer, wine and food there. It’s in an old typewriter factory, for fuck’s sake. How cool is that?!
Okay. So here’s the thing: it’s in Hartford, Connecticut. I realize that it’s a long shot that you’ll actually drive two hours to see me. But if you know anyone in the Hartford area, then please spread the word. Here’s the Facebook event page to RSVP.
Speak Up, a curated show in Hartford, CT, was created by writer (and Moth mainstay) Matt Dicks, who co-hosts the event with his wife Alysha. The couple’s goal for Speak Up is to bring the craft of live storytelling to the greater Hartford area while entertaining audiences with stories about the human condition. Speak Up happens quarterly at Real Art Ways, a multidisciplinary arts space in the Parkville section of Hartford. It has two theatres. We’ll be in the big one.
