Modern Stories Mix features Robin Gelfenbien. She is the Creator and Host of the storytelling series and podcast Yum’s the Word — the live show features not only excellent performers every month but also her amazing homemade ice cream cakes. The show has been named one of the “5 Best Storytelling Series in NYC” by CBS and a New York Times and was Time Out New York Critic’s Pick.
Her critically-acclaimed solo show, My Salvation Has a First Name (A Wienermobile Journey), premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival where New York Magazine called it “the highlight of next month’s Fringe” and Time Out New York gave it 4 stars.
Robin’s story, “Dog Eat Dog,” was recorded in the Modern Stories Studio in Westchester, NY and produced by Julie Threlkeld. In-story music opened with “Mario Paint – Perfect Strangers Theme” by Adam Haacke, as well as music from an old Oscar Mayer ad. In-story music and outro music included “Sixty Guys,” “Fallout,” “Syracuse” and “Arpeggiator Anxiety,” all composed and performed by Julie Threlkeld.
