Performing: Tue, July 2 at Ask Me Storytelling

I’ll be joining a few other storytellers at Axis Theatre on Tuesday, July 2 for Ask Me: ?!. Yep, the theme next week is a big mystery (although my hosts are dropping lots of hints).

This is the first real show in which I’ve been invited to perform. I’m nervous but I’m also pretty excited. Not the least of which is because it’s BYOB. I’m going to bring a large Belgian beer and try not to get too plowed before I go on.

UPDATE: I’ve done a little research, and I am going to be in esteemed company! Here’s who I’ll be sharing the stage with.

Susan Kent! I competed against Susan in a recent story slam where she told a beautiful story about an ill-fated prom in the south. She is co-host of Tell It: Brooklyn and blogs at Southern Discomforts.

Tim Manley! Tim is a 20-something writer, storyteller, teacher and comics artist living in Brooklyn. Here’s a bio from a Story Collider last year.

Brantley Brice! Brantley is an actor and funny person from South Carolina. I have a link to a hilarious story he told but I’m not going to share it in case he’s telling that one on Tuesday. NO PEEKING. In the meantime, here he is on Funny or Die.

Plus! Jack Perry on piano serenading hosts David Crabb (fantastic storyteller and teacher of storytelling, and also fiancé of Jack Perry) and Cammi Climaco, whom I can’t even describe but she’s lovely. This is her art.

These are all such talented people. Suggested donation to hear them (and me) is $10.

Doors open at 7:45 for an 8:00 show. Complete show details here. There’s also a Facebook event page if you’d like to RSVP.
